Cuban Missile Crisis
In July 1959, Fidel Castro lead a revolution in Cuba who overthrown Batista. By Castro turning to the Soviet Union and making Cuba communist made the United States upset. The United States responded by not buying items from Cuba anymore. This led to an operations called the Bay of Pigs. It was basically an attempt by Eisenhower go oust Castro. The outcome is that Castro will convince people that communist is good because then Cuba will stay communist. However that plan seems to fail.
In Cuba on July 1962, the Russian Nikita Khrushchev took part in building missiles and launchers and sending soviet ships to Cuba. These actions however were discovered by the Untied States by their US spy plane. In response to this President John F. Kennedy will have the US set up a blockade and put the decision on the Soviets. For the next several days the world was in fear on what was going to happen and if they were going to get bombed or not. The fear ended when President John F. Kennedy and Russian Nikita Khrushchev came to the resolution that US would have to promised not to invade Cuba and leave them alone but the Russians would have to remove the missiles.
