The Arms race is a competition between the US and Soviet Union to see who has the best armed forces. Trinity was the code name for the creation of the world's first atomic bomb. The two cities the US dropped the worlds first atomic bomb on was first on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 and then also three days later they dropped another bomb in Nagasaki. This event led to the end of World War 11. On August 29, 1949 the Soviet caught up to the US and dropped their first atomic bomb. Both countries goal was to have the best arsenal of nuclear weapons than the other. On November 1, 1952 the United States developed a hydrogen bomb called the Ivy Mike. This bomb was very much greater and thousands of times more powerful than the A-bombs.
